- American Express statements are not normally encrypted. If yours is, you will be asked for the password and it will stay on your device.
- How do I know the numbers are right?
- Every transaction is re-added and checked against the summary box this statement prints: the previous balance plus every charge, fee, interest line and payment has to equal the new balance to the penny. If it does not, you are told by how much before you pay, rather than being handed a file that is quietly wrong. A card statement prints no running balance, so there is no row to point at — only an exact figure.
